Vines of red ruby stardust trickle forth in fiery ringlets
Breathing destiny in the wake of wishful desires.
Lines of hope strike out to embrace nature
Choking the faces of despair into pages of revelation.
Hazes part upon the rise of the sinning sun.
Tableaus of desire and despair spill out
Like blood upon the battlefield.
Here, the Nightingale and the Leopard sing
In gross discordant harmony
Under the thick branches of the mighty oak.
Twilight comes upon the shores of a small lake.
Petals drop to the chilled earth like tattered white robes.
Silken tongues dance and writhe upon the water’s edge.
Reeds part and bend to the muddy earth
As crickets string their songs in endless rhapsody.
The angels turn their heads to the ice amidst the chaos of remorse.
Time collides in mid-step and volumes trip in collapsing rhythms.
By the sycamore tree, atop the limestone rock,
Order sits in confusion.
